Robert Foster, a retired pipe fitter and loving husband, father, and Poppy, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones at Spring Hill Memorial Hospital.
Robert is survived by his children: Denise (Doyle) Covey, Stephanie (Josh) Beck, and Robert (Nicole) Foster; his grandchildren: Cole, Reagen, Hunter, Madison, Cecelia, Colin, Roman and one on the way; his siblings: George, Brian, David, James, Cora, Sandra, Ronny, and Gary; and many other family, friends, and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Mary L. Foster and his wife Diane Foster.
Robert or Robbie if you knew him well was born on February 7, 1956 to George and Mary Foster. He was a pipe fitter for 40+ years and retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 36 years of work.
On June 5, 1981, he married the love of his life Deborah Diane Thomaston and were married for 41 wonderful years. They were longtime members of West Wilmer United Methodist Church. Together, they had three children that became the best part of their life: Denise, Stephanie, and Robert.
Robbie was a devoted husband and loving father. He had a love for sports, whether it be coaching, playing, or just watching. He loved Alabama football and always had either a ball game or a western on. He loved history and enjoyed to debate you in politics.
He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. We have the peace of knowing that he is with the Lord on this day and that he is with his loving wife.
Funeral arrangements will be held on Friday, June 10th, at 11am at the chapel of Kenmar Family Funeral Home - Tanner Williams Chapel. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 am until 11 am. Burial to follow at Oddfellows Cemetery.
