Phillip E. Clarke, Jr. was born November 14, 1956 to Phillip Sr. and Isabel Clarke in the quaint fishing village of Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
He enjoyed his job at the DuPont plant in Moss Point, where he made countless friends. But the joy of his life was his wife Janith Clarke and his three children, Stacey Clarke (Harold) Windham, Tammy (David) Powers, and Oliver Bart Clarke. Along with his grandchildren Katie (Andy) Hamilton, Victorian Blocker, Josette Clarke, Antonio Clarke, and Natalyn Powers. And great grandchildren Myla and Hayden Lane.
A town historian and wordsmith he loved studying and sharing genealogy and the history of the town he loved. As well as weaving tales of the past and some of his own creation.
God took him home to join his loved ones on October 6, 2021. He joins his wife, Janith Clarke, father, Phillip Clarke Sr, brothers, Robert L Clarke and Daniel L Clarke. And is survived by his mother, children, grandchildren, great grand children, sisters Vita Clarke, Elinor (Jimmy) Edwards, and Sarah (Scott) Bosarge, countless nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends in the community he loved.
Visitation will be Tuesday at San Souci Baptist church at 11:00am followed by a noon service and interment at Oddfellows cemetery.
