Patricia Larsen

July 12, 1937 ~ April 23, 2022 (age 84)

Obituary

Patricia Larsen passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Thankfully, memories of her will remain here on earth in the hearts and minds of her loved ones for a long time to come.

Patricia was born to Pauline and Stanley Christian in 1937 in Harriman, a small town in Eastern Tennessee. She was proud of her Tennessee roots and loved to return for visits throughout her lifetime.

She lived a life that was long and full and she witnessed many historical moments. Her favorite moments; however, were the ones spent with her friends and family. Her brothers and sisters Don, Sheila, Ronnie, and Deanna were her best friends and laughing with them about childhood memories, while continuing to make new ones, was one of her most treasured activities.

Patricia graduated from Murphy High School and later attended Johnson Bible College, where she had plans to attain a degree in education. This was not be, however. Instead, she spent the majority of her career in the mortgage business where her colleagues soon became some of her dearest friends.

Eventually, she married Larry Larsen of Humboldt, Iowa. They enjoyed a life of shared interests in camping, baseball, and family for over twenty years, until the time of his passing in 1994.

Patricia had a few past times, but her favorites were watching movies and television, and most importantly baseball. If you didn’t want to talk about these things, she would certainly find something to talk to you about, she was terrific with small talk and never met a stranger.

As mentioned earlier, time with family was the most important time in her life. The hole that is now left in the hearts of her daughters Dayna and Melinda and her grandchildren Alyx, Noah, and Emily is a large one. Life will always feel a little less vibrant in her absence.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Melinda Akridge, and her children Noah Akridge and Emily Akridge. Her daughter, Dayna Kellam, and her daughter Alyx Pierce, son-in-law Tyler, and their daughter Kynleigh. Her brothers and sisters Donald Christian, Sheila and Paul Blais, Ronnie and Selina Christian, and Deanna McKenzie. Her many treasured nieces and nephews. Her step-daughter Dawn Sweatt and  her daughters, Kristen Sellers and Caylin Acosta. And, her godson, Michael Huffmaster.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
