Mary Juanita Reisner, 90, was called home on October 5, 2022. Nita, a lifelong resident of Sans Souci, AL, is a cherished mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; father, James Kennerson; mother, Catherine Schultz Kennerson; and son, James Reisner. She is survived by her children, Lyle Reisner (Vivian), Richard Reisner, Royce Reisner, Edwina Bates (Michael), and Gary Reisner; grandchildren, Roslyn Cable (Marvin), Cristina Stephenson (Creg), Katie Harville (Anthony), Lindsey Bates, Joy White (Johnny), Jonathan Reisner, and Tiffany Parker (Michael); great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Cable, Tyler Driskell, Gabe White, Sage Driskell, and Callie Stephenson.
Born in Brownsville, Texas, Nita grew up on Faith Street in Sans Souci where she spent her early years growing up with her beloved cousins. She attended Alba High School and married her husband Lyle in 1949. She traveled with him across the world throughout his Air Force career until his retirement.
Nita operated the Sans Souci Seashell Gift Shop and spent many years as the pianist for Sans Souci Baptist Church and Heron Bay Baptist Church. She loved sharing the gospel through song and always carried a kiss in her pocket for her church families. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A viewing and service will be held Friday, October 7, 2022 at Kenmar Funeral Home in Bayou La Batre from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. A final trip around Sans Souci beach and interment at Oddfellows Cemetery will follow.
