Lynda Hudson Davis, born in April 1939 in Mobile, Alabama, departed this life to receive her heavenly reward on March 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Katherine Hudson and her sister Mary Hudson Gafford. She is survived by her brother Bob Hudson (Anne). She leaves behind a beautiful family who will miss her dearly. Mark Davis (Tina), Lee Davis (Starla), Joy Davis Wallace (Chris), and Scott Davis (Vanessa). She leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
She has been a member of the United Methodist Church all her life. She has been a member of Tanner Williams United Methodist Church for 25 years. She enjoyed being a member of the church choir.
Lynda graduated from Semmes High School in 1957. She earned a BS in Biology from Montevallo College. She worked as a Medical Technologist for many years at the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital. She retired as the Laboratory Director of the Mobile County Health Department.
Some of her greatest joys came from spending time with family and treasured friends. She took many trips with her special group of traveling buddies. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed showcasing her talents in sewing and needlecrafts. She was a member of the Merry Souls Dulcimer Group who performed in many venues over the years.
Her family would like to extend a thank you to our Tanner Williams church, our community, family and friends for providing prayers, emotional encouragement and food to support us through this time.
Her family would like to extend a very special thanks to Corie Howell who showered her with compassionate loving care through her illness. Corie has become a treasured member of our family.
Lynda’s Home Going celebration will be held at Tanner Williams United Methodist Church on Friday March 26, 2021. Visitation will be held 1 pm to 3 pm. Service will be at 3pm. Internment will follow at Joyner Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Jennifer Gregory will be officiating the service.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Martin, Gavin Davis, Randy Davis, Bryan Heritage, Luke Wallace, Nathan Wallace, Daniel Breland, and Eli Davis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Tanner Williams United Methodist Church Missions.
