Joyce Dykes

July 6, 1964 ~ August 29, 2021 (age 57)

Obituary

Joyce, originally from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, for the last 36 years, has resided in Alabama. The last 8 years in Georgetown (Chunchula), Alabama.

Thirty-five years married to Wayne Dykes, she and Wayne had two sons, Robert Jewel and Nathan Cole, Nathan was her youngest.
Joyce, Wayne and their youngest have spent the last eight years in Georgetown.

Joyce loved children and would have taken care of all the children in the world if she could have, she had not a selfish bone in her body. She cared for her grandmother, her mentally challenged uncle until their deaths. She also cared for her mother-in-law who had bone cancer until her death. Joyce loved sewing and had just taken up quilting, to give them as Christmas gifts as Christmas was her favorite holiday. She loved Hallmark movies, Christmas ones the best. She loved going to the movies and eating popcorn, and missed it since Covid had shut them down. She loved animals and said she could not wait to get home to us and her cat, BEBE. Joyce was an angel who came to Earth, and gave up her wings to stay! Wayne was lucky enough to hold her here with him for thirty-five wonderful years!

Joyce passed from this life on August 29, 2021 from Covid virus. We know she did not choose to go, as she loved her family, her youngest son, Nathan, most of all, and fought to stay! It was not to be though. Her soul was a pure one that glowed as bright as the Sun. God has called her home, He needed her, perhaps her soul was so bright it caught his attention.

"God has you now. I pray he will keep you close, and guard over you. I pray that one day he will allow me to see you in heaven again, one day, perhaps in God's time it will only be 10 minutes till then and we will be with you and you get hug Nathan. My love for you my captured angel will never end it will last for eternity ! you gave me the best gift a family and children as well as love."

"Spend as much time as you can with your husband, wife or kids, they are your most precious treasure, worth more than gold, make memories with them, because in the end, the love and memories, moments are all there is, and the only thing that stays with those left behind, but love lasts forever!   Goodbye for now Joyce, my best friend, soul mate, my true love. Maybe God will let you visit us sometime in our dreams till we get there in heaven."

Joyce is survived by her husband, Wayne, her two sons, Robert Jewel and Nathan Cole Dykes, her mother, Yvonne Spatzer, her two sisters, Dawn Spatzer and Regina Lane, four nieces, so many more family and friends.

She is preceded by her father, Tom Spatzer, who passed a week before her.
