Daniel Ray Freeman, a long-time resident of Wilmer, Alabama, passed away Friday, May 28 at 81 years old. He joins his wife of 57 years, Larue Freeman, in eternal life.
Daniel was born to Woodrow and Des Freeman on September 3, 1939, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi for 2 years before enlisting in the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked as a Supervisor at Scott Paper Company.
Daniel is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Curtis (Ronald), and three sons, Mark (Denise), Chris (Kerri), and Scott (Maggie). He is also survived by his sister, Faye Dees, 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way.
Daniel was an avid golfer and fisherman who loved all things outdoors. He treasured his family and savored every moment spent with loved ones. Daniel was a devout Christian and strengthened his beliefs through his membership at Wilmer Baptist Church. His caring, selfless personality and hardworking nature will be missed by many.
Visitation will be held at Wilmer Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 2 from 10-11 AM with a memorial service to follow. Arrangements are provided by Kenmar Family Funeral Home.
