We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Tanner Williams Chapel
Cecil Edward Hudson, Sr.
Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Robertsdale, Al on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021. He was born on May 24, 1958, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center to Emery Earl Hudson, Sr and Virginia Finch Hudson, whom he is preceded by in death.
He was loved by many, family, and those that he adopted as family. Throughout the years, he watched these, and his own children, grow into brilliant young men and women. He was a man of all trades - From sports coach to life coach; Security guard and supervisor; tugboat captain and tax preparer. He was a youth sports coach for most of his life, influencing many youth through his love of baseball and football. He coached for many years at Matthews Park, Trimmmier Park, and Maitre Park, including park president and travel baseball (with his oldest son, CJ). He was a graduate of Murphy High School in 1974 and was a proud alumnus, helping the school throughout his lifetime and especially when Jeffrey, his youngest, was in school there.
We wanted to mention everyone that we could that knew him, but quickly realized it would be easier to list who DIDN'T know him. Everyone knew that they were welcomed in his home, and so often times his house was filled with children that were not even his own, but would tell you that they were "his other kids". Instead of listing those individuals, we'd like to list those who meant so much to him near the end of his life: His wife of 43 years - Sandra Rogers Hudson (Robertsdale, AL); His oldest son - Cecil Edward Hudson Jr. "CJ", Wife Melissa Hudson, and Grandsons Riley and Zachary Hudson (Almo, KY); His daughter - Stephanie Hudson (Austin, TX); His youngest son - Jeffrey Hudson (Mobile, AL); His sisters - Burnice "Tennie" Rockwell and "Dank" Rockwell (deceased) (Mobile, AL); Patricia Ann Hudson (deceased) (Mobile, AL); Betty and Ronald Carter (deceased) (Mobile, AL); Carolyn Rockwell and Chuck Layton (Wilmer, AL); Sandy and Donald (deceased) Young (Mobile, AL); Charlotte and BJ (deceased) King (McCloud, OK). His Brothers: Emery Earl Hudson, Jr "Sonny" (deceased) and Lily Hudson (Tuscon, AZ); George and Sue Hudson (Peoria, AZ); Jack and Susan Hudson (Phoenix, AZ). As well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/great-nephews.
We kindly ask any donations be made via Paypal directly to Sandra Hudson in lieu of flowers.
