Obituary

Arthur Clarence Carlson III, 71, passed away peacefully in Mobile, AL on Monday April 19th, 2021. 

He is survived by his loving mother Renie Holobaugh Carlson, brothers Gary Carlson, Ron Carlson (Alex), Victor Carlson (Anka), David Carlson (Linda), and sister Sandra Carlson. Also survived by nephew Brent (Gaby) and nieces Tasha (Scott), Heather (George), Tracy, Emily, Beth, and Abigail along with other cousins from the Holobaugh and Carlson family.

He was preceded in death by his father Arthur Carlson II and daughter Amanda Carlson Baskey..

Arthur was born on July 14th, 1949 in Cleveland, OH. He joined the Navy in 1975. After leaving the service, he spent his remaining time as a hardworking union brick mason. He married Karyn Errington and together they had a beautiful daughter, Amanda Carlson Baskey in 1980. Arthur was many things: a simple man was not one of them. Before fatherhood, he lived an adventurous life traveling the country in his youth. He was known for his spontaneous and generous spirit, outgoing personality, and his strong faith in God. He loved fishing, cooking, and watching westerns and war movies, along with many other treasured memories.

A funeral service will be held at New Life Assembly of God church Friday, May 14th. Family will be gathering at 12:45p.m. preceding the memorial service from 1-2pm. Interment of ashes ceremony will take place immediately following the service at 2:15pm at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery 34904 AL-225 Spanish Fort, AL 36577. Relatives and friends are invited to join both services.
