Freddie Lee Kelly

April 9, 1943 ~ March 15, 2019 (age 75)

Freddie Lee Kelly, son of the late Clyde McGee Kelly and Marjorie J. Kelly, born April 9, 1943 in Lawrenceburg, TN passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15th, 2019 after a yearlong battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda H. Kelly; his children, Varner Lee Kelly (Sheila) of Saraland, William Clyde Kelly Sr. “Billy” of Saraland, Kerry Kelly Grider (Ronnie) of Wilmer, and Sean Wesley Kelly (Jami) of Fleming Island, FL; grandchildren Joshua Kelly of Kents Store, VA, Hannah, Jacob, and Josie Kelly, Ashley and Billy Kelly Jr., Hunter (Emily) and Bailey Kelly of Jacksonville, FL; Chad Grider, Courtney Cagle, Kelly Perdue (Anthony), and Shaylin Grider; great-grandchildren Cayden Cagle, Kaylee-Mae Perdue, Laci and Carson Kelly; brother Bob Kelly (Tere) of Lawrenceburg, TN; nephew Bobby Kelly (Katie) of Seattle, WA; and niece Diana Ray (Andy) of Athens, OH.

He graduated from Murphy High School in 1961 and retired from Kimberly Clark after 38 years. He had a tough exterior; however he was a very tender hearted man. He loved to tell his friends and family many stories and never met a FORD vehicle or an animal he didn’t love.

Visitation for Freddie Kelly will be held Friday, March 22, 2019 from 11:00am - 12:00pm at Crawford United Methodist Church, 7470 Moffett Road, Mobile, AL 36618. Immediately following will be the funeral service starting at 12:00pm and graveside service will be at Allentown Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Butler and his staff at the USA Mitchell Cancer Center for the loving care they gave Freddie during the past year.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Crawford United Methodist Church, 7470 Moffett Road, Mobile, AL 36618.
