Eva Mae Pearl (Walston) Grigsby passed away Friday March 8, 2019.
She was born April 14, 1931 on the old farmstead on Jeff Hamilton Road, when everything was still dirt roads. She went to Baker Elementary and Baker High and graduated in 1948, and then attended Huffstettler Business College. Then she joined the US Navy, she was honorably discharged. Upon returning home she attended Century Business College in Mobile. Her civil service began in 1954, with Corp of Engineers AL, the Air Force 78th Troop Carrier Squadron Mobile, The department of transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, where she worked from 1961 to 1988 where is retired after 34 years of civil service work.
She is survived by three sons Curtis Grigsby, Ernest (Wendy) Grigsby, Dwight Grigsby , grandchildren Brandy Grigsby, Jonathon (Sara) Grigsby, Kenny Allison , Jennifer Waters , Amy Allison,great grandchildren Clarisse Amelia, Jacob Jennings, Harley Franks,Timothy Yace , Madelyn , Audrey , Naomi Waters , Ethan , Sara Allison sister Jessie Lambert,Carol,nieces and nephews Yvonne, Jackie, Pat, Thelma Walston , Lee , Tangela Lambert,and many other relatives and friends.
She played with various bluegrass bands, and in 2004 began playing with a gospel band from Stockton and played till 2011.
Services times are still pending at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers to make donations to Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church C/O Vencil Hubbard 6751 Tanner Williams Road Lucedale, MS 39452.
